Im shopping for a vibrating tumbler. I’ve been looking at the Lot O and see most people like it. I’m wondering what the differences are between the Lot O and the UV 10. I see the price is similar and the capacity is close too. Someone said the Lot O has a rubber bowl while the UV has a plastic bowl. Is rubber preferable? What are other differences? Is one clearly better than the other? Any input appreciated before I make my decision.

From what I'm reading the UV10 has over twice the capacity of the Lot O and the Lot O requires a special mounting setup prior to use. Also I'm understanding the Lot O maybe requires more baby sitting to keep the action consistent?? I might be out to lunch on this and if I am someone will correct me I'm sure. No baby sitting required (so far) for my UV10.... I fill the bowl (loaded with rocks and media) with water and flip it over holding the lid on by hand (open a bit) and drain water till it slows to dripping... then add grit and borax and action is good for the duration of the run. Because of the UV10's larger capacity it's going to take longer (than the Lot O) to get a full load depending on your rotary capacity/output but as said elsewhere you can get around that by adding more media to the UV10 to compensate for fewer rocks if you get my drift.

They are both good tumblers, one a little bigger than the other. I guess it might depends on how many pounds of rocks you plan on tumbling at one time. I use a TT UV-18 , 18 lb. Vib tumbler fed from two TT Mod B 15 lb. rotary tumblers, which can't keep up with the UV-18. I like to tumble a lot of rocks at one time. The Lot-O looks like a good machine but is only rated for 4-5 lbs., about half of the TT UV-10. The UV's can just sit on the floor, no special stand required. rocktumbler.com/thumlers/model-uv10.shtmlrocktumbler.com/lot-o-tumbler/
