I am saddened by the events in Australia. A majority of the Country/Continent is being burned.
Millions of Australian animal/bird/reptile citizens have been killed.
It is too early to determine, but some species may have been wiped out.
Edit: I was told to remove a potion of this post related to something that a moderator told me to. Otherwise, the post would have been moved to the cave. Cannot comment on what that sentence was.
Please send prayers and whatever else you can to ensure that Australia receives the needed rains.

For the record guys, nothing nefarious has happened. I just asked Beth to remove some climate change stuff.
I feel awful for everyone and everything affected by the fires. Saw some devastating news stories this morning. Too much. It's just awful. They were saying the suburbs were heating up to 120 degrees F. Maybe a billion animals roasted alive. Hell on earth.

Fire has been always been a part of out landscape, but we still have a couple of months of hot and dry conditions here if the drought breaks. Though our property hasn't been directly affected we are covered with a thick blanket of smoke, and my sister in law and niece who was evacuated is currently staying with us. Growing up on the family farm I have always been part of the local fire brigade and have been out on some of these fires. We have sadly lost some firefighters and members of the public. Communities will be feeling the pain for a long time Ensay, Victoria Township of Corryong I have deliberately not shown photos of burnt homes or livestock, there's enough of that on the news

rivarat Thank you for sharing your experiences. May you and yours remain safe. Would you say the below is a fairly accurate map of the fires?

rivarat Thank you for sharing your experiences. May you and yours remain safe. Would you say the below is a fairly accurate map of the fires? Never thought about overlaying Australia over the US, but the areas burnt across the country is about 8 million hectares (19.8 million acres)

Just to the North East of Benalla, upper left of the map. So the nearest fire is about 60km (37 miles) from home. Not far but generally the prevailing weather comes from the north west. so pushing it away from here.

Not far but generally the prevailing weather comes from the north west. so pushing it away from here. I went to wildfire fighter training. Man, all it would take is for the wind to change and things could get ugly fast, unless they have the perimeter back-burned or plowed. Those big ugly fires create their own weather patterns due to the intense updraft. Stay SAFE... Evan

We are no strangers to wild fires in Arizona. Stay safe and be vigilent, rivarat. I just heard on the news this morning that Arizona is sending more hot shots over to help.
Praying for rain and a break in the weather patterns for you.
