I'm borrowing and adapting a tongue in cheek observation from the bike forum to which I subscribe.
The writer opined. My greatest fear is that my spouse will sell my rock equipment for what I told her/him that I paid for it.
In reality: I used to say that I had less invested in my rock equipment than my wife did in her piano but that wasn't really true. However, with the covid shut down she splurged and bought a new piano and made my statement true. What goes around comes around.

I try to tell my wife (and self) that I spend less on buying rocks than I make selling them. Sometimes it's true, but not often.
