Hello everyone. Hope your day is going well. I am considering buying a used 6 lb Companion Rock Tumbler. It was made by Sears Roebuck and is probably 40 years old. My only other Tumbler is a Lot O Tumbler and I have been wanting a rotary to keep her company. Is anyone familiar with this brand? Wondering about if I would need a part would I have trouble getting something to fit. It’s pretty old, younger than me though, but maybe it’s an oldie but a goodie? Model 861.1417
My other option is to buy a new Thumlers 9 lb. tumbler.

The model # you have Sears Made 2 with the same # . the early on was a large Box type apox 12"x12"x6"h with a 6 lb steel drum with Liner. American made motor with a belt. Excellent machine once cleaned it will run for years. Parts are basic Hardware store available and belts are also available . Any 6lb drum or 9lb drum will work. In Sears later Lifetime They made a Blue one with the same M # . The steel drum was an option, But came with a rubber composite with Plastic lid ,also Blue. A good machine but the rubber drum is Fragile around The rim and tends to split and break off .After that it is only Good for Dry Tumbling because of Leakage The final Sears Tumbler in That series was Model 861.14171 . this was a Plastic Gears driven and worthless. because The the plastic geer will where out rather quickly and there are no replacements that work well hope this helps

Thanks for that info. This one was a tan color. They wanted $150 for it though so I did hesitate. Thanks for the advice.

I would have bargained for it. I uncleaned condition and in need of rebuilding It is worth at most $50.00 . Cleaned and rebuilt is is worth about what there asking. I have 6 machines. they were my fathers , purchased in the 1970-80 and still running Sal
