I spent a good portion of today working on some rocks that needed to be sawn. I’ll pick through them again to look for cabbable pieces but most will go in one of the tumblers. There were a lot of duds. Here are the best ones. If you zoom in a little, the patterns stand out. LSAs botswana agates I got a few Royal Imperial chunks. They broke easy but turned out cool! I like the blue parts. May need to cab those blue ones. I just found this piece in there too. It’s my favorite of the day. It looks 3d but it’s solid agate. I’ll probably have to cab that one. That’s all I did today. My finger tips and thumbs hurt. Thank you for looking. Sincerely, Brent.

A day we’ll spent. The Royal Imperial is sweet stuff!

quartzilla I agree. That is the first Royal imperial I have cut. I was surprised how nice it looks. I remember where I got it. Maybe I should get some more.

That RIJ stood right out in the group pic! I think I'd take a good look at a couple of those pieces to see if they could be cabbed...the one middle right and the green/blue one right under that one are the two I'd be thinking about cabbing. There's several Bots that have some really cool patterns to the fortifications! I really like your 3D piece as well! I think that would look good tumbled or cabbed.

jasoninsd I agree about the RIJ. I already have them set aside. They’re pretty small. I did my best to cut even thickness slabs but few if any are any where near perfect. I’ll break on the cracks by putting them in a vise and pushing with gloves, (voice of experience). I cleaned out all four tumblers this weekend in a marathon session of looking at rocks. I should have another 3 pound polish clean out next weekend. The two 12 pounders running coarse and the two 3 pounders running everything else is starting to pay off. That 3D slab looks like snowballs submerged in honey. It knocked my socks off when I saw it.

I saw the RIJ was small, but I still think they'd make some great little cabs... You're really pumping out the tumbles!! Can't wait to see pics of the latest batch! I've got Teepee Canyon Agate slabs in the vibe going through polish right now. Should be done by Tuesday I'm thinking...

Those look like some nice stones! A lot of my "tumbling" material has been gone through and turned into "cabbing" material, so I understand it. I can't wait to see those out of the polish!

My wife keeps trying to turn my tumbling rough into cabbing rough. I almost have to hide them. Lol! I don't have too much cabbing material, so I'm always on the lookout for more. Since I'm the only one in the house who does much with rocks, I don't have to worry too much. Maybe once it warms up, I will. Hopefully not...
