My family and I live in San Antonio, Tx, mostly limestone, so my rock collecting will have to be as we travel about the country. But, I do own a field next to our house that was used as a power station and construction site over the years. As I work the field for family use I come across mostly limestone or landscaping rock but every now and then I find one that I like. Wondering what I can do with the "nice" rocks I have found, it hit me to try and tumble them. Otherwise they will get tossed aside and eventually covered in grass or mixed in with a garden. Also, rock tumbling seems like a good hobby to start since I have two year old and four year old boys. They will be collecting more than me. haha Anyway, I look forward to learning and asking questions of this forum.
Thanks, James

Hey James! Welcome to the forum fro South Dakota! I think it's really awesome you're wanting to involve the boys. It can be a great family bonding time during the cleanout stages...as well as the finished polish point!

Thanks for the welcome. I had a chance to work out of the hill country in Texas near Enchanted Rock. I picked up lots of Granite. I'm trying to make thing as hard as possible for myself. Haha. I did find some rocks I am excited to tumble.

Welcome from California. Not a tumbler, but there are tumbling experts here.
