Hi - New here, and new to Tumbling. Just cleaned up my rocks from step 4 and burnished them with ivory soap and water-- they are smooth but no shine. I think I didnt clean the barrels outo enough in between steps. My question is-- can I remedy this batch? Can I tumble the batch again with the polish grit?
I use the Polly Plastics brand grit.
Thank you!!!

Hey shani . It could be a dirty barrel issue. It’s more likely that the rocks are too soft to take a polish. Have you figured out how to post photos yet? Some pictures would help us identify possible problems. Cloudinary works really well but I’m not the best person to ask about setting it up. Glad to have you here participating at RTH. Welcome. Everyone here loves photos. you can always re-tumble batches. My experience tumbling leads me to believe if you start with good quality agate, you have good results. In North Idaho we have garnet but no good agates. I’m not sure where you live but there are people here from almost any part of the USA. We’re glad to have you here. If you have trouble posting photos, just ask. There are a lot of helpful people here. Sincerely, Brent.

If your happy with the shape I’d start at stage 2 again. Best bet though would be to post pics of the stones here so members can give you better input. Welcome from So Cal!

I agree. Amazon doesn't sell good ones. The rockshed is reliable and awesome. Welcome to the forum.

Shani, I use tapatalk for pictures and it is an easy way to upload pictures. Cost is about $1 per month.
