A super piece of Sagenite. Looks like some kind of fungi growing inside a rock though Sagenite isn't actually a fossil. Bob

I just went to Costco for an eye exam because my distance vision is getting weak. Exam including dilation, two pairs of glasses (one is sun glasses) for a total of $428. I have been wearing their reading glasses for computer work and reading for the last 15 years. I think it is $19 for three pair. I have had to go from 2.25 up to 2.75 diopter over that time period. I use cheapo 3.0 diopter ($2) flea market reading glasses for lapidary and silversmithing work. Bob

I have a very similar design but they are shorter to fit under wheels that are closer to the bottom of the drip tray. I use a dual output aquarium air pump for mine; puts out a lot of spray. Bob

Jeffrey is also one of my favorite slab dealers. At every show that we meet I definitely end up with a thinner wallet. You have some super slabs there! Bob

QUICK! Grab your butterfly net and stand on your roof. Maybe you can snag a chunk! You do have to give it to the feds. It is their property even though they forced you to give them your money to buy and build it. Bob

There is a book written a few years back that tells the story of the Allies decoding the German and Japanese codes with the enigma machine. It definitely had a major impact on the outcome of the war. One specific battle - the battle of Midway - where reading the Japanese code was the deciding factor. The name of the book was "The Ultrasecret". I don't recall the author, though. It also pointed out the idiocy of some of our military leaders who thought they knew better and they didn't utilize nor heed the information gained from the machine. General Mark Clark didn't push inland immediately after landing at Anzio in Italy when he was told that the Germans were retreating but instead he stayed on the beach reinforcing his troops. Upon learning that they weren't being followed, the Germans came back to the landing site and devastated our troops on the beach. Bob

I use an 8" expando drum and silicon carbide belts dry whilst wearing a good N95 rated dust mask. I then go to a slow turning carpet wheel for polishing. I'm contemplating going to the 10" bull wheel expando drum so I can do larger slabs. With the 3" wide belts I'm limited to slabs/geode halves of about 5" to 6" across. Darn! Those 4" by 10" bull Wheel expandos are sure expensive!!! Bob
