I hope you enjoy them as much as I did, Allen. And thanks for driving all that way to pick them up!

Mel, have you shown them to your horse yet? He might take some offense at them and give you a hard ride next time! LOL!
Actually, I really like them. If anything, they could be even gaudier for my tastes! Of course, it's been a few years (decades) since I could even wear boots, but I still like them. I used to like Lucchese's pretty much, over most others. Never could afford custom-built ones, though.

I have put pictures of most of the slabs I have available up on photobucket, here (there are multiple pages): s713.photobucket.com/user/tkrueger3/library/clearance%20sale?sort=3&page=1For several of the types - the nephrite, amazonite, and a few others, I only pictured a few of the many on hand. Not pictured are dozens of slabs from thundereggs that to me all look similar. I can do a small FRB mix of slabs for $25, or a medium FRB mixed for $40, shipping included. A small FRB of thunderegg slices would be $20 including shipping. I take PayPal only, please. If any interest, PM me. Thanx, Tom

Just a note for those who have expressed interest in some of my "stuff" - I'm working hard on taking inventory and pictures of all my slabs and rough, so that I can keep track of who wants what, and so I have a clue to begin with. It's not an easy task, and I'm not done yet. Thanks for your patience!

I'm in the process of taking inventory, so I can figure out the answer to that very question. Over time, the rocks and slabs and associated tools and supplies have taken over most of the cracks, crevices, and otherwise available spaces in the house and garage. When I get it figured out, I'll publish a list.

Due to unforeseen life circumstances, I will be getting out of the rock hobby, a little at a time. To get started, I have a small FRB of slabs for sale. This lot includes turitella, Big Cedar, dendritic jasper, Mookaite, Black Feather plume, porcelerite, Cave Creek, one that I think is Owyhee, and a couple I haven't ID'd. Price for this lot is $15, postage included. I have a LOT of slabs, some really nice, some kinda blah. When I got my first rock saw, I sorta went bonkers with the slabbing! Just didn't ever get around to cabbing very many from the slabs. So if you would be interested in a bunch of slabs, PM me, and if I have what you're looking for, you'll get a good bargain-basement price. I also have 2 saws - an 18" Royal and a 10" Lortone - as well as a Lortone 8" dual-expando unit, plus various tumblers and vibes that I need to move out. I'm just now getting started with this clean-out project, so please bear with me! Thanks, Tom

Mel, I disagree with only one of your statements: "I think this is going to be a real problem in the future.....". I think you're wrong - I think it's a problem right now. And not just "a problem" - I think it's one of the most serious problems facing us today, and can only get more and more predominant if nothing is done to correct the situation. And, yes, Helen, I also watched a lot of cartoons in my youth, and Roadrunner cartoons were my favorites. HOWEVER - there was never any blood or gore in those cartoons. Also, they were CARTOONS! Today's images that many of our youth are so enamored of and engrossed in feature real people, and what the Hollywood and CGI folks manage to realistically portray as real blood and guts. And the more gore, the better it sells and the more profit is made, it seems.
I'm not in favor of a lot of censorship, but I do believe that there has to be a line drawn somewhere to reduce the influence of this visual gore and violence on today's youth. I'm not smart enough to know where that line should be, and I don't presume to dictate to others, but I support efforts to reduce the impact.
Sorry for my rambling - I'll fall down off my soapbox now.

Man, it's nice to see "REAL" turkeys, not those white, mostly malformed aberrations they grow in the big turkey farms - those things are so inbred and messed up, some of them can't even walk! Nice to see good, normal birds like yours. Hope you have lots of peeps when the time comes!

I know what you mean. I used to really enjoy watching the sun go down behind or next to Long's Peak from my deck in Longmont. Gorgeous skies.

My question is, what the hell is a "yatch"? The boat in the picture sure looks a lot like a "yacht" to me! LOL! I wish the idiots who spend all their time doctoring photos and editing recordings to try to prove an invalid point would at the very least learn to spell and use reasonably correct grammar.

Congrats, Marie! I'm happy for you! You took lemons when the casino cut you off, and then you proceeded to make lemonade - first with rocks, and now with your soulmate.

Mel, I was born here in San Antone, but was an Air Force brat, so moved all over the place. But a lot of growing up was right here, living with grandparents while Dad was off on some TDY or other. I had numerous experiences with the little tan boogers. I was always sticking my hands into places they didn't really belong. One of the scorpions' favorite hiding places during the day, in the urban environment, was always mailboxes, particularly the kind that used to hang on the front porch wall next to the front door. I wasn't tall enough to look inside, but I could reach with my fingers. Which made them good targets! It's a pain I'll never forget, for sure!

172! That's a whole bunch of unpleasant hypos!
Mel, I heard someplace that with scorpions, as a general rule, the smaller the pincers, the more potent the toxin. Do you know if there's any truth to that? If that's true, then it might explain why these little Texas buggers feel like you got hit full force with an electrified roofing hammer!
