I have an old colander that i put over a small bucket, pour the rocks in and let the fluid drain down. Rinse conservatively until either the rocks are cleanish or the bucket is filling. Next day, i begin pouring out the excess water from the bucket. I don't reclaim all the polish but quite a bit is saved.

Does anyone reuse their pre polish and polish? I have been trying and find that the polish is hit an miss, sometimes stones come out fine while other times, not much change from the previous stage. Does the polish break down like SiC?

Nice piece did you pre - grind that? no, not this one, just kept it going in 46/70 or whatever other coarse grit that was around. I know that when it's time to tumble obsidian, I'm in for the long haul.

From my second tumbler batch: Polka Dot Agate Misc Jaspers Corals (I don't see much coral up here so this is a real treat) Others Not sure what these are but they are a bit delicate One last agate My macro is a 150mm f2.8 and quite heavy, hence the awkward photo angles. Dan

Way to go Rob, I'm surprised that you dont win more often as your tumbles are always first class.

your obsidian came out amazing, did you do follow this process ( 220 SC for 48 hours, 600 SC 48 hours, AO1000 72 hours, then rocksheds AO polish 72 hours)as well or did you remove them and tumble separately?

I grew up in Abbotsford and remember seeing the Snowbirds every summer.
