With an aluminum hub, you may want to apply a small amount of lithium grease between the steel shaft and the aluminum hub. Electrolysis between the metals can make the wheels hard to remove in the future. With a sintered wheel, it may be a long time before you need to remove it again.

I really like “The Origin of the Solar System Elements” table. I’ve been thinking about the origins of elements heavier than Fe. Since nuclear fusion kind of fizzles out with Iron, it’s fascinating to try and understand how heavier elements are formed.

I was initially looking north hoping to see the aurora. I think we’re around 46° N latitude. Turns out I needed to look straight up. It peaked around 10:45-11:00 Pacific time.

I did a little silver fabrication a long time ago but never graduated to the oa torch. I really liked it but that hobby kind of fell by the wayside. Your work looks really solid. I like the bail too.

I like it. The rock is showy but not overboard. It really goes well with the silver. The silver fab looks great. Do you use a propane torch for your soldering?

Awesome tumbles pebblesky. It looks like you have a good source for some fantastic material. They are all beauties. The brecciated jasper is really cool and the eyes and orbs shot is crazy. You do a great job tumbling. Thanks for sharing your work.

Mine came in a 14”x14”x14” box. That was with the 6 lb barrels and base, in factory packaging. You could ship the base with one or two barrels and pick up the other(s) at a later time. That way you could start using it.

Outstanding batch Kelly. The shine you achieved is spectacular. Bots and flint are both really satisfying to tumble. Thanks for sharing your work.

bryan22Welcome from Idaho. Tumbling is definitely an exercise in patience but the results can be amazing. Hang in there. You’ll be completely hooked in no time.

Incredible cabs. The rhodo heart is so cool. What is the material in the 9th picture? It looks like very high end OJ.
Thanks for sharing. Very impressive work.

chaosdsm The best thing about SiC is that it’s fast. Also, when it breaks down, it breaks into sharp pieces. Most other grits will round off and become less effective pretty fast.

I was gonna say the bots were my favorites, but as I scrolled, I knew I couldn't choose. You always tumble the best stuff! Thanks Tela. I try to watch for good deals on nice rough. A little prep work helps speed things up and hopefully maximizes the finish a little.
