You look lovely. I never met a crack whore... so I can't compare. Ok seriously, I'm kidding. Please ignore that one. We aren't all so stupid. Thanks Scott, Happy to hear, I guess if you walk around with your behinde(ass) in the air you are inviting that kind of comments. I guess that translation also makes it more "aggressive" because in Denmark if you want to be really rude/aggressive you sweare in english. We love beeing in the States and most of the people we have meet have been really posetive and friendly.

I live with two teenage grandchildren. Knowing the way kids these days talk from some of the phrases I hear from them, that might have been a complement The other day I was informed that being called "pissy" is now considered a complement (at least in their circles I guess......go figure.) I personally see no resemblance to any kind of whore or hore in the true meaning of the word by the very attractive photo you posted. Just be glad they weren't out looking to hurt you, because I guess there's kids out there like that too. Oh yeah, nice finds there. Wish I could just go pick that stuff up. Yeah... If they told you that beeing called pissy is a positive thing I Think they are pranking you;0) Happy I don't look like a crack hore since I don't know how they look, but It made me awake

My apologies on behalf of my countrymen. We are not all rude to international visitors. I see a couple of piece of chert and some nice tight red jasper (often it is pitted or fractured). I see at least one little piece of petrified wood (the little square on upper right) and alas a couple of pieces of quartz or quartzite. Are you headed east or west now? Sent you a PM JASPER!!!! And petrified wood!!! Can't wait to getting home and work those stones ;0) also got a goodie packet from Scott. So happy

Noticed it in some of the coral discussions but didn't know about the flint and jasper. The Danish flint are really dull but maybe I should try and cook some. Are there any threads in the forum about the "recepie" for cooking rocks? Sure my husband Will Think I've lost it completely

Jim the guy teaching me percussion flint knapping has some hopped up turbo charged turkey roasters and he loaned me one. It goes to almost 600 degrees according to my thermometer. It's a industrial rewired deal with extra insulation on the bottom and top. I take it to 200 and hold for 48 hours to dry the stone and then up 50 degrees per hour until it maxes out and hold it for 2-3 days on coral and some jaspers. Flint is 350 to 400. He has a kiln but it takes a huge amount to fill it up. He knows Stan very well, they r both master knappers. Can't wait to try the dark red mahogany coral in the tumbler. Why are we cooking flint and jasper??

Had a Day at cocoa Beach FL yesterday and 10 minuts after Leaving the Beach the youngest had to go to the restroom and we found a gasstation. Next to the gasstation was an empty Ground so I went scouting for rocks and found these 2 shells in 5 minuts. It's amazing that you can find this stuff just off the grund. The large Shell has som crystals on the back side.

A Quick status on the grit situation: i've been trying to add cat litter and getting the right slurry. That went fine, but still not much action(ran a batch of grit 80 to compare) so I have to conclude that the tumbler/barrel are to small( good excuse to invest in a new tumbler ;0) So I'm back to grit 80 Leaving for vacation tomorrow so for the next 6 weeks the tumbler Will run only with grit 80 and the rocks. Filled it with flint and looking forward to seeing the results.

Sweden is verry nice, so much great Nature and pretty rocks And Steig Larsen. Sad for his passing. But now I can watch Swedish actors (with subtitles) on American television. I love the cadence of your language. Cheers to Steig and all of Sweden! jamesp how does SiC 'rust'? Not really sure who steig Larsen was, but if He was a sports person i for sure won't know who He was. But yes sweden has a lot more to offer than Denmark when it comes to Nature. So I feel lucky that I get to visit sweden a lot in my work.

Not sure if this is in the right place, but just stumbled opon this collection on youtube. I would love to have a collection like that. As good a place as any. It is not a terribly critical thing, lol.
That is Jason at www.nmstonesupply.com . He is a member here, has a lot of nice stuff!
If I had that many fantastic rocks I would not have the time for pc or any forums ;0)

I use 30 grit with clay. No doubt the 30 grit grinds faster than the 80 grit. Again, the clay helps circulate the grit. Best is to give it a go. After 3-6 days open the barrel and look for those big grit particles. If they are not obviously broken down then you may have an issue. If they are broken down and you can't find them then you are getting a great grinding action. success Run barrel 65-75% full with clay/litter slurry right at rock level. For 3 pound barrel I would try a half cup of clay/litter. Open barrel after a day and make sure slurry is not to thick/thin. Target a milk shake consistency. If too thick, pour some slurry off and add water. If too thin, add clay/litter. you have to find the amount needed for your barrel and additive by a bit of trail and error. would be nice to use that 25 grit. I hope it is SiC 25(black, sharp and glistens). Added some kitty litter today and just waiting to check tomorrow. The grit has gotten some water during the years (so some particles a bit rusty) but I guess it still works - still not ready to quit the bag 80 grit vs 20 or 25 or ?
