I might be wrong but I beleive most of the cut gemstones are for sale in the online auction. I noticed yesterday that the sale actually starts at 1pm on Friday. And I just happen to have Friday off . We have bid on a couple of the mixed boxes to split between us, but are going to hold fast on our bid price, so I expect that we will be outbid, which makes needing to be there on Saturday a mute point. So right now we are expecting to go on Friday. Tina and I are both interested in some of the jewelers tools and of course the rough. Good luck Ann

Mike MrMike , when you cut the rios on your tile saw, did you just roll them? I've got stuff from mel Sabre52 and Jeremy txrockhunter , but I haven't been brave enough to cut them yet. I've been told to cut them like a biscuit, but I haven't taken the plunge yet. Thanks and regards. Dave Hey Dave, yes I roll the rock against the blade to do the curves. Make sure you use a continuous rim blade not a segmented one, those will cut the crapola out of your fingers. Speaking from experience. Good luck.

Hello randys and welcome to the forum. Great build you got going on. One word of wisdom is that you really need another barrel dedicated to the polish stage. The SiC particles get embedded in the rubber/plastic and you will not get a good polish.

Star studded Rios. In full production lately. You grinding those in the vintage slant ? If so it gets the shaping done. Nope, just some “expert” tile saw work. Saves a huge amount of tumbling time. Went through a lot of blades until I started using lots of water with the hose. Haven’t used the slant in a while, need a new wheel.

Are you getting in on the action Ann??? Looks like y’all hit the mother load possibly. I’d drive up but Booked our weekend in Nashville today. We’re taking my middle son, his girlfriend, Hannah away to Music City come Friday morning. This auction does sadden me a little. So many wonderful things and not a family member in site that would keep up the legacy and memories. I think that my friend, Tina, and I might drive up on Saturday morning. She's my local hounding buddy/jewelry maker. She's really excited about the cut stones. I might be wrong but I beleive most of the cut gemstones are for sale in the online auction.

That sounds like fun but the last thing I want to see at a sale is a gemologist assisting. I want the sellers to know as little as possible about the value of the "boring" rocks I want to purchase. Chuck I thought the very same thing. I might have even muttered a cuss word under my breath when I read that line. Now my question is, do I go on Saturday morning and pay full price or wait until Sunday and get the half price left overs? I think half price starts on Saturday at 13:00

The auction has dozens of lots of gemstones and beads, as well as fossil lots, while the tag sale has the majority of the hundreds of individual stones and tumbled rocks sold in 2- and 5-pound bags, at bargain prices. We also have wooden boxes of rough material, including: Smoky Quartz, Petoski, Agate, Amethyst, Unikite, Corundum, Chalcedony, Petrified Wood, Obsidian, Geodes, Fossils, and much more. Photos are extensive, but nowhere near complete of everything we have. Dozens of Various Sizes of Wooden Trays for Organizing Collections Yep Anne, they have an online auction as well as a tag sale when you get there. They have a buy it now option for some of the online items. I bought a Lortone R40 tumbler for $100 & an R20 tumbler for $75!!!!! Pick up is next Saturday & I plan to look at what’s left of the tag sale items. Some really cool stuff in this sale. The online auction has lots of cut gems. If any of you jewelry makers are interested in buying some I would be glad to pick them up & ship to you. Just make sure you study the pics closely & count the stones so there aren’t any questions when you get them.

Man Duke, you collected the really old Wheel Horses. Love the old garden tractors, they were built to last. Funny how small most of the old ones were though, can’t imagine my big old self using one.
