Is the motor still turning? Sometimes the aluminum pulley on the motor shaft wears so the belt bottoms out and will not create enough friction to turn the tumbler. The belt may also have worn down in width and as a result is bottoming out on the pulley resulting in the same dynamic. Solutions are to 1, get a new belt if it is worn, 2, get a new pulley and belt if the pulley is worn , or 3, get a new motor if the motor is not able to turn the barrel. I hope this helps. (Is your belt tight enough?) Is the second roller turning freely? Bill

Ali, does the roller under the barrel stop or is it just spinning under the barrel? Bill

Royal saws were built by Jenkins Lapidary in Portland, OR If you need special parts you can try 503-774-8334. That is a very old number for Jenkens Lapidary, but worth a try. If that doesn't work try Catmandewe on this forum, he rebuilds saws and may have better info... Good luck, and welcome to the forum. Bill

I have some Rocky Butte Jasper that looks a lot like your slab.

The best I can do is draw a shape on a slab then cut it. When I fabricate, it is off the cuff and not planned. Maybe I will try to draw something....

My wife and I grow shiitake mushrooms on Oregon white oak logs. We use sawdust spawn and seal the bores with paraffin wax melted on a small camp stove and delivered to the log with a turkey baster... Love to see your project. Thanks for posting

I first came across this venue while searching for Trent Agate references. I found highplainsdrifter's pic heavy post. That was before I really re-engaged the hobby and it took me a while to get back. Bill

Hello, Here is a shout out to you all. I joined back in January but have not gotten around to posting here yet. I have been enjoying the conversation here on RTH and look forward to learning from you all and sharing what I know as I continue my exploration of this hobby. Best regards, Bill
