You don't think it might coincide with new training groups at Luke? You might be too close to PHX to get much from their training flights, but I sure get a lot. We used to get a lot of lower altitude stuff, but now they're doing that more down in Buckeye. We hear the rumble but often they are too high to see. My steel supplier is at the N end of the runway. When I was there Friday it looked like they were working on near vertical takeoffs in the 35's, downright deafening.

Somewhat related. A good friend of mine is staying in a remote, Central WI cabin while repairs are done to her home.
Last night she thought there was an earthquake. Lots of low rumbles. Intermittent explosions of sorts. Her dogs were going nuts. Then she thought it might be a bear trying to get in the cabin. Next she thought someone might be illegally hunting nearby.
I checked the area geology. There is a major fault line several miles from the cabin. I am guessing there was some shifting going on. It was pretty cold there last night.
This morning she walked around the area. No tracks in the snow. No fallen trees. Her dogs were no longer scared.
It was pretty scary for her at the time.
She decided that the Earth was angry about something in the area and responded.

Its interesting amyduke My brother was into that decades ago He had that sort of problem That the candling helped I’m just the opposite My ears are clear Straight through To the other side Although I did have a strange condition that lasted for a decade I think it must have been some sort of eczema in the ear canal crazy itching It would only intermittently show up Just as I was ready to crash at night What is it w/ the body getting strange right when your trying to doze of? Anyway I had a quick and efficient cure A Q-tip swabbed with triple antibiotic ointment Stopped the itching quick So mohs could get a restful sleep Like I said that went on for 10 years Last 3 or 4 years the problem is all cleared up Doctor had no idea….

It's pissing me off. Weekend before last my house was actually shaking and the noise! Vince was in the shop and I went out and asked him what the hell was that? He said 4 Apaches flew over in formation lower than he ever saw them fly. The noise and the shaking was disconcerting, to say the least. Saturday we had an Osprey flying around our house in some kind of holding pattern. Could have been the weather causing the circling around our house because we had thunderstorms, but dang! We never had this kind of noise over our house until this year.

Never have I seen helicopters, maybe the ones you see are out of Camp Navajo. Personally I'm fine with them, even when they were doing touch and go from the Luke Auxilliary field a couple miles away. Our property is considered crash risk zone, but I think Luke's record is pretty good for that. It would be nice if there was no need for them, but that's not the world we live on.

I have no idea where they're coming from. We get the F-16's flying over every once in a while, but I only have actually seen them a couple of times. By the time you hear them, they're already gone. The Osprey looked like it was maybe heading to CA, but there were a lots of really dark thunderheads out west of us on Saturday.

hummingbirdstones I experienced those thunderheads Saturday, between morning and evening downpours over 2" of rain. I had an arrival at PHX delayed almost 3 hours and got to bring them to Wickenburg through a pretty constant downpour, and to get home had to get through a moderate wash that was flowing pretty good. Luke is now almost all F35's at about $150M each, I think the remaining F16's are used for our guest students from other countries.
