The outside looks like stramatolite but the inside looks like psaronius which is a fern tree.

I agree with rmF. Definitely looks like stromatolite on the exterior with an odd core. June Culp Zeitner, in her Southwest Gem trails book, calls similar material agatized algae.

An oddball for sure. Does look like a fern tree to me as well on the inside. Unexpected from the outside.
