Photos taken yesterday. Tree is 'Bloodgood' Japanese maples. A hearty Japanese maple often used as graft base stock. Blood for a reason Various stages of leak turning colors again yesterday On a side note, lime and deep plowing may pay off in this field planting. Finally had some rain. In foreground is mixed greens, background is mixed grains and peas to attract wildlife. Just after germination deer and turkey have left 1000's of tracks. Plenty of meat to be had. Guessing nothing will grow taller than 5 inches due to the mowing action of the deer.

Great fall colors James. Fattening up a fresh Thanksgiving turkey in the back 40. Two turkeys were out there yesterday Rick. Of course they saw me before I saw them. Those rascals have some eyesight. Will probably put out a couple of cameras to keep an eye on the big buck inventory too. Been warm, expecting late mid Nov. begin to rut. And the drying trays ready for doe jerky ! One of the few cultivated fields in the adjacent 1000 acres.

jamespThat is absolutely beautiful James! I love Japanese Maples. Ahh, hunting season. What do you use to hunt? Bow, gun, both? The husband loves to hunt and fish. Your blessed with all that property! What are you sitting on?
