Beautiful! Are the four prong-like posts protection for the opal and setting? Also, are the colors on the backplate between them actually there, or are they possibly reflections due to texturing?

Thanks The piece taught me a few lessons, and it came out far from perfect especially with regards to the setting of the stone, but I’m pretty happy with it. This must be the week for "lessons learned"! I jacked up a Malachite cab after wrapping it...hard lesson learned on that one! LOL

This must be the week for "lessons learned"! I jacked up a Malachite cab after wrapping it...hard lesson learned on that one! LOL I’m still puzzling just how you fixed that one, great save! LOL LOL - The reworking of the stone wasn't a problem. It took about 10-15 minutes (if that) on the wheels. I was able to reshape the dome on the 600 in just a couple minutes. It took longer to get it OUT of the wrap...and then even longer to get it back IN the wrap! LOL
