I always love Rhodochrosite! Are some of these Butterfly Jasper? Thanks PS! I haven't worked any Rhodochrosite before...and I'm pretty excited to try it! Yes by the way...that IS Butterfly Wing Jasper (apparently it is also know as Butterfly Jasper according to Google pics)! (I was too slow with editing my post to add the blurbs about the pics! LOL)

The Chalcopyrite is very cool and the sagenites are pretty, too. I'm not a big orange fan, but I like the pattern in that one piece. I'm looking foward to seeing your doublets! ETA: Rhodo is pretty soft. Be gentle with it.

That orange piece is a bit weird...so we'll see what comes of that! That's some gorgeous material J, can't wait to see what you conjour up Thanks Chad! I tried to sit down a little bit ago to stencil some shapes...but wasn't feeling it, so I had to walk away. I'm hoping to get "inspired" later tonight as I'd really like to cut some preforms tomorrow while there's a break in the weather!

I thought butterfly wing and cold mountain were both Mexican, are you thinking of jellybean jasper? Well...I was thinking of Butterfly Wing Jasper...because I could've sworn I caught somewhere BWJ was from Oregon. However!!! Upon reading your question, I had to Google both of them. I have no clue where I picked up that it was from Oregon...but every link I came up with said it was from Mexico. I did edit the post. Thanks for catching that. I must have seen a website referencing Jellybean Jasper and flip-flopped it in my head...as you're right, Jellybean is from Oregon. Now I'm going to have to figure out how to rewire my brain...which has been on the "to do" list for quite awhile! LOL

This morning I took that slab in the first picture and cut out four preforms from the bottom half. WOWSERS! This stuff is super soft. I shaped up the preforms on my wheels (lightly on the 220 hard) and then ran the edges over the 280 soft. This stuff is going to be fun to work!!!
