MsAli heaters are relatively easy to install, I put one in a commuter car once, the ones that install inline in the heater hose and pump the coolant through the heater core and everything are best IMO. The cardboard slid in front of the radiator all winter helped too back when I commuted in cars almost as old as me. Also, if you and Nate need any PHX pointers feel free to PM, the PT job gets me there 2 or more x a week.

Quartzite is a cultural experience; Tusocon is a commercial one. Quartzite is unwashed; Tucson is dressed up. Quartzite is the state fair or your family reunion; Tucson is a visit to Macey's. I can relax and go slow at Quartzite; I have to fret with parking, logistics, and indor venues in Tucson. I buy small amounts of rough at Quartzite; finished stuff at Tucson is good window shopping but not what I buy. Just my skewed views of two quite different events and experiences.

Exactly the kind of feedback I love Thank you

I would absolutely love to drive down there. I've done 1199 miles in 22 hrs on my motorcycle so driving my truck to AZ would be a piece of cake π My current job is seasonal, so I'm off all winter - unfortunately Ali isn't. It would be awesome to take a month and putz around down there but that's not possible. So as much enjoyment there is in touring the nation, it would most likely be fly & rent a car.
It is possible to bring back a suitcase full of rocks on an airplane - a few years ago I took 67# of AZ rainbow wood I dug at DoBell Ranch home in a "carry-on". TSA wasn't really happy about that π Flat rate boxes would be easier π

I had to pay an extra $50 for 40lbs of rocks in my check bag and I carried on 25+lbs in my backpack carry on. It was my first visit to Quartzite and I will be back for sure.

stewdogg here's a little trick I used. It was a PITA taking that duffle bag through the airport (thank God it had wheels) but I waited until I was boarding then asked the flight attendant if I could check the bag. She slapped a tag on it and rolled it off to the side... Didn't cost me a penny. That was Feb of 2020 so IDK if they'll still do that now or not.
