A friend from work told me about one of his neighbors passing away and the daughters needing to clear out the home, including rocks and lapidary tools, and I ended up buying it all. Here's some highlights. Tommy if there's a more appropriate section for this let me know and move it.
Some equipment, not everything is shown but mostly what I will eventually resell. The story is he got most of it new in 2016, then put it in storage and moved to Belize, and after losing his wife moved back and was just getting set up when he passed. Much of it came with reciepts and manuals.
Covington 10" trim/slab saw in good working order.
Covington 8" Expando Arbor. This one was purchased from our own johnjsgems so it is even possible he was a member here. drocknut he lived in the firse Mfd home park on the right going in to Wickenburg before Safeway. I don't remember his name but I can find out. The expandos are not in good shape, probably from storage. I have a lightly used 180 and 220 for it, and I may still have a new expando that I'll put on it.
Raytech/Shaw 6" faceting machine, he must have found it used. Water drip cup is missing, only extras are a bundle of dops. Works good, when I offer it I will add a couple laps with masters, not faceting grade. I think you can still get everything for it.
HiTech?? 4" trim saw. I'll be sorting this one out. When I switch it on it starts right up quietly, then shuts down after a few seconds. Should be easy once I have a minute with the electrical tester and it has a blade that I think is new.
There is also an Inland swap top in a basket, haven't plugged it in, might not. Probably best as parts for someone who uses one.
Some of the rocks. I sorted out stuff I won't keep and will donate to the rock club to honor the daughters wishes. Here's some of what is still potentially keepers. Looking for ID on a few.
Rough stuff. The Sodalite is already slabbed, along with the larger Mookaite, the rest will have to wait. The brown nodules are something special, no idea what though.
A bucket of boulder opal. Pics weren't working for me but the visible opal all has fire, and dozens of uncut nuts, the pics are of stuff I just scooped out. When I want to turn brown I'll split a bunch of them.
The stand out slabs. Flame agate and what appears to be maybe OJ?
There is a lot more, but I think that's enough.
