THe spacers are WAY too small. The barrels will easily climb those. I'm guessing they are also eating away at the edge of the barrel as they are too tight between the shaft covers. There is no give and they just chomp away at the rubber. The shaft covers also look very worn which is probably not helping matters. I would take them apart and clean it all up. Replace all the worn rubber on the shafts and get taller spacers. Very cool setup

Thank you - I will share the info with my brother who built the tumbler. Yes, the barrels (Thumler 3lb and Lortonr 6lb) were being "eaten."
