The spring dig will be on 28,29 30 April. I went about ten years ago and had no idea what I was doing. Since, I have been doing research and gathering the proper stuff to take. That first foray there I found nothing. Supposedly a little kid with plastic pale and shovel picked up a Rutile Crystal laying in the dirt that was appraised in the thousands. At least that's what I remember.
Anyone else planning on going? Maybe someone who knows where to go to collect? <hint hint>

Welcome to the forum from South Dakota! I'm not going...but it sounds like you should add a plastic pale and shovel to your packing list! LOL

In the spring dig they have a few people driving four-wheelers and golf carts that take people to and from the mine. Just ask any of them where to look for something and they will take you to the best areas. Always tip your driver and don't forget to get a burger or hot dog at Junior Norman's semi-primative restaurant. Make sure to bring every tool in your arsenal as the digging varies. Welcome to the board. Stick around and show photos of your finds. RockB

Sounds wonderful! A few too many miles for me to attend though!
