Morning! Anyone in SE Oregon willing to convey off-road conditions in graveyard point area?
I'd like to go that way but there may have been snow showers recently and the potential to rain this weekend.
Thanks!

I'd like to go that way but there may have been snow showers recently and the potential to rain this weekend. Thanks! I can't imagine the water crossing would be too great. What kind of vehicle do you have? If you do go out this early, make sure to take along extra supplies to last a couple days... just in case. I'm seeing weather predictions that although El Nino is coming, the PNW is supposed to have a regular year, but Cali and other nearby states are going to get extreme heat. Where are you out of? markb

A few people have gotten out but if it rains the roads will be snotty slick. We went one time when it was raining and we slid off the road and by the time we got stopped we were a good 1/4 mile below the road. Left the truck there and hiked in and went hounding (boots weighed about 20 lbs each with the mud that was caked to them), came back about 6 hours later and drove it right out.
There are still a few drifts back in the jasper areas but most of Graveyard point area should be accessible if it isnt muddy.

Tony LOL, only a TRUE rockhound would abandon their vehicle in the mud, hike in to rockhound several hours, then hike back to address the problem! You make us proud!!

catmandewe I remember the first day with the RTH group when we were out there several years ago after overnight rains. Out at the kitty litter mine I think our old Suzuki grew about 2 inches taller from mud on the tires.
