Not sure what this is - I believe it was in the batch of stuff realrockhound sent - carnelian? Tried faceting this on the slant cab - ended up throwing it in the lot-o realrockhound - I think you sent this too - it's super soft and I had a very hard time cabbing so in the lot-o it went - did not polish hardly at all, but very cool patterning another failed cab mixed bowl - I went through all of my tumbles and pulled the really bad mixed chips - these are in a small tupperware container - might be fun to fill little vials more mixed pet wood pet wood praire agates - i really liked these - cool patterns, but earthy I think this is rainforest jasper? not sure what this is, but the inclusions are far out! different views of the same waterline agate (please ignore the hair - it's either mine or the dogs lol) Many of these don't look very shiny here, but as I hold them in my hand they took a super shine and look amazing - some polish remains, but par for the coarse on some of these. Thanks for peeking.

Wow Peta rocknewb101. You put on quite a show this morning. There’s a lot of eye candy there. It’s hard to choose a favorite but that first photo of the backlit agate sure jumps out at me. Thanks for showing.

The second pink faceted one, I believe that’s actually some Carey believe it or not. The brown oval is Biggs, the brown one with the pink inclusions is a McDermott 79 bed thunderegg. Look back at the thunderegg contest theme to see what that came off of. Hands down one of my top favorite cabs to date.

That's good to know about the Mcdermott 79 thunderegg and the Carey (I couldn't recall where I'd gotten that piece from) I think the mcdermott is by far my favorite. Love the very cool inclusions. I think the Biggs is the one that I couldn't quite get down, plus it has some vugs (or at least holes) in it and made it challenging. I've gotta go look for that cab now - i'm intrigued!

They all look great. Especially the first one! Thanks Cave Dweller for the IDs. Every time someone ids a rock I don't know about, I am off to the internet to find out about it.

That second one doesn’t look like your typical Carey. What I believe that was, was the trimming from where I cut around some plume. Sometimes the agate can have a red/white or yellow hue to it and I believe that’s what that was. I’m pretty sure I sent you some with some red plumes as well.

I'm pretty happy with it - gorgeous color! I'm the same way with IDs - im horrible at it, other than a select few, so always helpful to learn what they are! Yes - I have a thinner slab that's mostly clear with some red plume in it - not sure why it didn't photograph here - I'll look for it!
