Hello, I have search and found many way to clean Quartz and pyrite, but I have a rock mixed with both. It appears to have some dirt and calcite in between the quart points. I need some specific guidance on how you would clean this up and get calcite/dirt out, without messing it up please. ** I tried to do photos but it seems I need a flickr or cloudinary account? It appears they only give you 25 free photos before you have to start paying... Or am I looking at that incorrectly?

I don't have an answer for your cleaning question...but as far as your pic posting quesion: I just posted this in another thread: Here's the link for instructions on how to setup a Cloudinary account. I didn't have any issues setting mine up...but some people have had some frustrations. I just followed the steps in the tutorial...and posting pics are easy. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/page/using-cloudinaryIf you take pics with your phone, another way to post pics is to use the Tapatalk app. I use that A LOT to post pics on here. **Edit - you get a LOT more than 25 pics by the way...

Try some Super Iron Out which is available at most big box hardware stores. Shouldn't hurt the pyrite.

Try some Super Iron Out which is available at most big box hardware stores. Shouldn't hurt the pyrite. I am doing that now... Letting it soak for 24 hours before changing it out. Some have said that after 24 hours the byproducts can start to damage or hurt certain minerals.... Not a scientist, but keeping a close watch on it. Thank you for the info!
