Most of the really good stuff was mined out in the 60s and 70s. However… new stuff is being discovered and I’m one of those knot heads out there risking life and limb to discover it 😂

None of us will be here to see any of it, but I think there’s likely all sorts of deposits that are right now far underground, slowly pushing their way upward….in a few million years, there will be mines in places we think hold nothing of value. Also some believe that future space exploration will eventually provide lots of new sources for minerals.

Well, you've said a mouthful. I can't really argue with a lot of it, but I choose not to be bogged down by pessimism. I'm a bit more pessimistic than you are, I just bury it. No, I don't have an ulcer. My brother does and he doesn't bury a damn thing.

@hefty I appreciate that rant, though I don't agree with a lot of it. Seems like a cord was struck or something was stirring inside you.
Better out than nothing at all 👍

The reason the Government is taking over land is to keep us from picking up rocks.
If everyone not involved in the Government did it, in no time we wouldn't have a planet left to stand on.
