Hey, All.
Just an update on my project. It’s working great! I just need to align the pillow blocks a bit more and grease them and it’s pretty much done!
This is setup with a 1725rpm motor with a 2” pulley connected to 1/2” rods spaced 4.5” apart - using a 6” pulley to drive the main one. This results in my 4.5” (3lb) barrel rotating at 48rpm.
I also need to decide on what to use to give the rollers a bit more grip.
Thanks for looking.

Nice setup. You could try 1/2” garden hose on the rods. It will increase the RPMs a little.
Welcome to RTH.

Heat shrink tubing would work well and have pretty good longevity. Might get brittle in colder weather though.

It doesn't add too much to the diameter of the rods...and if you have "tons", it'd be a quick, easy, and inexpensive fix when it needs to be replaced.

I definitely say use the heat shrink tubing. Had garden hose on my home built tumbler, but then it split at some point and grated up the sides of one of the barrels. Heat shrink went on and (so far) stays on with no issue at all. Looks cleaner too IMO.
