I've been trying to come up with a new pennant display stand for shows. I've got a bunch of the velvet covered cardboard cutouts that you hang them on, but there's always issues with those if there's any breeze at all and I wanted to go vertical to make more efficient use of my limited table space. I finally laid out the design I had in my head and have one finished. It came out good and I've started a second one. I don't think I'll make the stand part quite as deep so it doesn't take as much space on the table. They're a lot more stable than I expected It's all sheet metal so it's got a little bit of weight to it and won't blow over. It comes apart with just a couple of screws and goes fairly flat. I'm going to add an angle across the bottom of the base and that way I can put pretty much as much weight on it as I want, if I have a windy day. Looks like I'll be able to get about 24 pendants on each one without crowding them too much. I think this is going to work out great and it looks pretty nice. Since I'm going to redo the sides I might angle the fronts back a slight bit more. I got a bunch of magnetic clips to hang the pendants. They allow me to separate the necklace part a little bit which I think looks better. Very easy to adjust the height and I can wind the extra around them. They're also easy to add and remove but give me a little bit of security. You can't really remove one from the front, you have to reach through and disengage the clip.

Dangit Gary...you've been hitting some major homeruns with your ideas here lately! This is another genius idea my friend!!

Thanks jasoninsd. I think I'm going to cover the second one with a lighter fabric. I think white vinyl might be a little much. Maybe some light grey. I think the velvet that's typically used looks good but this should be much easier to keep clean!

I really like that. Nice and clean looking and I think the little bit of security is good.👍 I like the black but maybe I’d like the gray too. I’ve seen some really nice photos done on gray backgrounds and it looks good with many colors. What do you all do if someone says they want to try something on? I mean a pendant could be easily walked off with once on. But saying no is going to offend the customer. And how about earrings. Those I think I’d site health concerns as a reason not to allow it.

That looks great, Gary! I like the magnetic clips idea a lot. Makes the pendants stay in one spot and they are way more secure. When you do the next one, please post a picture of it.

I've found having a grey background gives the best color representation of the stone...at least with my cell phone camera!

I'd pull them off and let people try them on. Pendants only though, not earrings. We're a pretty small town and so far I'm not doing shows that have a crush of people. I really don't think it will be much of an issue.

Damn, that is good! The leather like material really adds that touch of class.

I like it, and we just might kinda imitate it a little. Since we do a lot of outside dirty dusty shows I'm trying to imagine washable slip covers.

Does it fold or disassemble flat?

I just finished a gray one. Not sure if I'm going to go with both of them gray or just keep the one black. I'll probably go with another gray one and they'll be interchangeable. This one also has slightly more angle on the plates but not much. It's quite a bit shallower from front to back and it's still plenty stable.

rockbrain I like them in both colors. Very nice and neat. If it were me I'd put the light colored stone pendants on the black one and the darker stones on the gray one. Makes them stand out more and "pop".

Makes them stand out more and "pop". I think that's exactly what I'll do. The silver looks so much better against the black It's real fast to whip out the stands now but covering them with the vinyl is a bit of a pain and I don't enjoy it at all! Very nice design and execution! Thanks! Much better execution on this gray one but it's stuff you can't see. Added a hem to the top edge of the base so it's not a sharp edge. The biggest thing is I carefully measured where the screws go that hold everything together. Then I pre-punched holes in the base for the screws. The first one I just randomly ran 4 screws to hold the plates to the base. I had to number the plates and put an arrow pointing up so the screw holes lined up after I break them down. All the plates should interchange now and the direction shouldn't matter. That will be faster and less frustrating for setup.
