Hey, All! Here’s my current final design. I am using adjustable-length belts and they are absolutely amazing. I also have this connected to a smart switch and a camera Al I can monitor it remotely and turn off if needed. Loving it so far. I’m hearing that 1/2 HP is overkill, so I may swap this for a lower lower motor with 1725 rpm stock (any Amazon links would be appreciated!) Thanks for looking!

I can't get over how quiet that motor is lol. If you feel like downloading an app on your phone to measure decibels I'm curious how loud it is from 2 feet away. Looking good tho, I like the peg idea. I think the link belts are cool. Minimizing vibration on my arbor is important to me so I measured the decibels with the link belt vs the rubber belt and I was shocked to find it's actually louder with the link belt. I searched 1/20 hp 1725 rpm on amazon and a bunch of listings came up. It seems that the 1/20 hp motors are all 1500-1550 rpm though so that might help your searches. You'd probably need to switch a pulley to get your preferred speed dialed back in. Thanks for that info - here’s a screenshot from about 2ft away with a tumbler on it.

Nice looking setup! The peg system is a great idea and should definitely help with those wandering barrels.

Simple and easy design, I like having the cam for any accidents and the pegs add some versatility.
Not nit-picking at all, I dont have a very mechanical mind, but why do you drive the opposite side the motor? Wouldn't it turn on its own?

What kinds of bearings and rods are you using? I have no clue what to search for to price out some parts. Thank you!

Son Of Beach, driving both rods assures the barrel will turn. Especially with small light barrels slippage of only one driven rod is very common, rod will turn, but slip under the barrel, not turning it.
