I have 2 slabs I just cabbed that I'm hoping some one can ID
Spotted one
This next one is not a keeper as is, soft areas that pitted when I cabbed.
I'm going to try to stabilize the rest of the small slab, because I think it's pretty.
Any idea ?
Thanks,
Patty

The spotted one if I had it I would call it an exceptional specimen of leopard jasper - but I'm far from an expert. No idea what the other one is.

As dillonf said Leopard skin, often called jasper but actually rhyolite.

That is a nice looking slab. I've picked some up recently from Brian at Central Lapidary. Actually a Rhyolite, but like lots of others, commonly misnamed as jasper.

Thanks rockbrain , I definitely have a lot to learn about what rocks are what. That slab came in a box I got from RTH classified a while ago.
It did polish up nicer than I excepted, to tell the truth. I'm always happy to put a name on things, so thanks to you & Dillon on that. I just recently read an article in Rock & Gem about Rhyolite & lava. Doesn't mean I can tell what a Rhyolite is- but the article was interesting.

It’s probably not, but the bottom one looks just like some of the Rio Grande moss agates I’ve seen. Sometimes they are clear with the red Moss inclusions, other times they’re white with the red moss…either way, whatever it is, it’s beautiful! I’ll be showing my wife this picture later. She may swoon over it.

Pretty cabs Patty! Agreed with leopard skin rhyolite and some type of moss agate.

Thank you.
I stabilized the other slab I have, guess I should get it back to top of the pile.
