I finished this one a few days ago. Wow, I love the depth of these rocks!

Depth is definitely the right word! I love it when the banding is so clear you can see in between and down into the piece! Great example...and fantastic polish!

I just wish I had a way to grind out the bad areas so they don't shrink so much over the course of tumbling! All in due time I guess.

That is a beautiful crazy lace! Where did you happen to get it? Oh, a cheap Dremel and selection of diamond tip grinding bits will take care of grinding out those problem areas.

This came from the Rock Shed many moons ago. I'll definitely buy more. I actually own a Dremel and some diamond bits but I must be doing something wrong. It either makes a huge mess, I grind off the diamond coating, and/or I get water everywhere with minimal shaping. Obviously a novice at it.

I have not done that very much, I rather like some imperfections in rocks and don’t try to get them all out. When I did, though, I went very very slow and only at a slow to mid range speed. Get those little diamond tips too hot and the diamonds go bye-bye lol

You can use a water bath to cool the dremel bit. Place rock in a bit of clay (or some stabilizer) in bottom of small tub of water (a sour cream container will do) and hold rock down. If your dremel has a rotary tool connection this is the time to use it and grind out what you don't like... if no rotary tool, they can be had for about 30 bucks. Try to avoid electrocution. Water and electricity don't mix

I haven’t been able to figure out how to grind down spots with my Dremel very well either. There’s definitely a learning curve to this.

The amber, yellow, caramel, and white are a great combination. That's a keeper.
