It looks very familiar. I think I have some but can’t remember the name. I’ll try to sort through my agates tomorrow and see if I can find them. Perhaps someone else here knows also. Hmmm…Can you post a picture of the description sheet that came with the tumbler? What are those other two?

Based on the pic I'd say carnelian agate, but it's a bit darker than the stuff I have.

The other two I believe are a Brecciated Jasper, at least they resemble the sample shown on Rocktumbler.com's Tumbled Gemstones ID chart. I was thinking this one may be some sort of jasper/Agate hybrid. but the more I think about it, it is kind of similar to the Fluorite sample. this book only gives very basic descriptions of Aventurine, Jasper, Agates ect. and not very helpful in narrowing down this one.

Fluorite is a really soft rock, and I’ve never seen one with banding that looks like an agate so I don’t think it’s at. You could easily tell by trying to scratch it with a small nail. If the nail digs in it’s fluorite lol. Nails are about 5.5 on the Mohs scale if I remember right. Fluorite is only around 3 or 4. Agates are between 7 and 7.5. It’s definitely a agate some kind. Perhaps a fire agate or something. I’ll do a little looking later. Got to get the kid off to school…

Its not fire agate. Fire agate is in chalcedony and looks very different then that. It is not fluorite, that looks very different, and would not have polished like that. It is a normal ol agate.

Here’s what I was remembering I had that looks similar. I think yours is meant to be part of your brecciated jasper rocks. This is what we call a ‘jasp-agate’. We find them fairly often here in central Texas. Jasper with quartz and/or agate inclusions. Agate, jasper, chert, quartz are all forms of quartz (silicon dioxide). Quartz is is your macro crystal while agate, chert, Jasper, chalcedony are micro and crypto crystalline (individual crystals that can’t be seen with the naked eye). Jasper is chert with iron oxide and/or other minerals, giving it red and yellow features. So they can combine to make really interesting rocks. We find jasper around here that has all the colors of the rainbow sometimes.

I am still pretty new at all of this, so I may be completely wrong on the other two. Some stones were very easy to ID such as the Aventurine and Dalmatian stones. Thanks to Rocktumbler.com I learned the Dalmatian is not a Jasper as it is classified by National Geographic. it is an igneous type of rock while Jasper and Agates belong in the quartz family. Here are the pages of the above learning guide, and as you can see not very helpful.
