Wow! Those are beautiful! Lots of rich reds!! What is that one whitish blue one?? I was told it’s blue opal. I bought 2 pieces at the rock shop downtown. Here is the other. I thought the green pattern on this one was cool, kinda plumish? Oh wow. That is really cool. I haven't seen that before. I didn't notice that green moss in the original pic, but I can see it now. That is such a nice tone of blue!

I like the shade of blue too, with the green. Pretty stone.

michiganpebblerWhich beach do you hunt? I've been to the state park beach north of port huron. When I was assigned to Adrian we went over to Lake Erie near the nuke plant. All I found was crushed shells.

All I found was crushed shells. Being a noob, I haven’t done any beach rockhounding down this way yet. I’ve hunted the river for stones, but for beach hunting, I’ve only done the UP. We went last October, my first rockhounding trip, and I fell in love. So many different, fun, colorful rocks to be found. The Hubby & I are talking about a trip up the west side of the state so I can do some Petoskey hunting, that would be fun. What did you find at Port Huron?

The Fort Gratiot County Park and the Lighthouse Beach, if not a resident of St. Clair County, there is a parking fee during summer. After Labor day they are free. The Lighthouse does have a museum and you can pay for a tour of the lighthouse for a small fee. Good luck and have fun.
