Attached are four photos of a rock I recently tumbled. I believe it came from Lake Michigan but don't remember exactly where I found it. From one direction it appears to show what I think is schiller effect. It appears only on one side. When you look at the "end" of the rock you see points of material which I am guessing is quartz that runs through the rock. Any ideas would be appreciated. Below is the side that has the schiller effect. Below is the same side rotated to observe the schiller effect. Below is a closeup of the pattern of the two materials making up the "pattern" on the surface. Below is a closeup of one end which shows the quartz as points. Reminds me of some petrified wood. Thanks Chris

Plagioclase feldspar (white feldspar)? The end, though, looks almost like cross sections of petrified palm wood that I find. But I’ve never seen that effect in it.
