I tried to rinse him wipe down my cab machine. After I finished with it. I've been managing to keep it looking pretty decent. I think the stainless steel helps. [img src="https://res.cloudinary.com/gkyhn/image/upload/v1693149322/zry6oby7zh5s2d4abnis.jpg" alt=" " The saw looks good on the outside as I've been keeping it wiped down but I can't believe how quick it got gunked up inside. I've already had to change the oil.

BTW the poor mans way of cleaning up the saw muck is to filter through doubled paper grocery bags. Put it over a screen to drain out any oil you can salvage.

Well the outside still looks new! LOL
Showing pictures of the inside like that just makes the saw and you look like you've got years of experience with each other!! LOL

I was going to ask you for an update on how the new saw was working. I guess the pictures answer that question.

I'm using the paper bag method to filter the oil. The problem is getting all the rock snot out of the interior of the saw. There sure are a lot of nooks and crannies! I mucked out the 24" last week and this one today. I'm absolutely amazed how clean the oil is after the paper bag!

I constantly use paper bags to filter oil as I go just to maintain and prevent it from becoming too bad. Once a year or so I wheel the saws out onto the driveway to blast them with the pressure washer. This is a major mess and I suit up accordingly. Old clothes and a shower afterwards are mandatory.

Wow, and I thought I let the puddin get too thick in my saws. Ditto on the pressure washer. I need a "yard cart" to roll mine out back instead of having to use my trailer and put a tarp over the back of the tow vehicle for mud spray prevention. And get the rail in place for the overhead crane lift for the big ones. Nice thing here is most of the year I can just leave them out in the sun to dry pretty quickly.

I've found the best tools for scraping out my saws after draining the oil are a putty knife and one of these. I think they're meant for working with flooring, but it's a really good sludge scraper. I second the paper bag method as well. After seeing how clean I could get mineral oil with paper bag method, I'm only going to use mineral oil from here out.

Who are you calling poor?!? *checks my wallet* Well, yep, I guess youre right. I use the paper grocery bags to filter my oil too. Works great. Ive found that bondo spreaders / plastic putty knives work great for scraping the gunk off the inside of the saw too. Being plastic, they keep me from chipping up all the paint inside of the saw.
