texhexThose are a type of Jasper here in Texas (I forget the name) that seems to be mixed with feldspar and sometimes quartz, making a rock with soft spots all over. Tumbling them is a bit difficult but they are interesting. Just don’t expect a perfect tumble and shine.

Thank you for the appreciated information. I went to fast earlier, concentrating on the first rock. That second rock is different, now that I look at it closely. It’s a rather more traditional Jasper, except they seem to have some concentrations of chalcedony mixed it. It is not near as delicate. As soon as you get through those dented areas, it will shine up quite beautifully! I find those on occasion and they are fun to tumble.
