I had been using the free version of Comodo firewall for years. It went to a pay program. Before that, I had always used Zone Alarm, but it got too bulky and bogged me down sometimes. That was several years ago. I reinstalled it, hoping it has gotten better.
So what do you guys use of the three or another?

Once you go MAC, you'll never go back!! MAC still has the best protection built in, no need for third party firewalls or protection.

I had to look, as I've never really noticed any issues with mine. So, I guess that's a good thing. Windows Defender is what is on my laptop with Windows 10.

I have been using MBam or Malware Anti Bites. I started out with the free version and went paid after my computer tech recommended it.

Honestly, defender works great for Windows 10/11. Ive stopped using any accessory programs. Back in the days of Win98 through Win7 I used to use malwarebytes, but these days Windows Defender and firewall are a lot more refined and I trust using only that.
This is coming from a guy who also is the company IT guy. For business, I still maintain a Barracuda Firewall at the facility thats using their new AI adaptive firewall program. Thats overkill for a home PC though.
At home its only Windows Defender. Still the best protection is to not click on anything sketchy and to only trust YOUR Nigerian prince. Dont trust those other guys...stick with the Nigerian prince you know.

I've had this (was) new HP Pro Book for little over a year now..........came with an edition of McAfee I never loaded and scrubbed off. Have only been using Windows Defender and firewalls exclusively...........best advise I've heard and taken, don't open anything you are not familiar with or otherwise know the sender.......occasionally I'll get an E-Mail from a spammer based in Europe under the McAfee guise requesting a renewal that has expired....lol...had my E-Mail service provider look into it (I've had this E-mail service and same name since Roadrunner.com inception).........They did the dirty work and found a haven of scammers and spammers associated with the various IP addresses they use........Just dump it in the spammer and block folders.......done...!

Well, my first two computers were Dell/Windows and I paid for McAfee protection. I still got weird infections. Twelve years ago I listened to my sisters and went Apple. Absolutely no problems since then. Yeah, my Mac cost a bit more than a PC but it also gives one peace of mind with it's superior protection. Peace of mind===priceless.

I have been using Chromebooks for about 5 years now. If you don't need any specialized software and if you don't mind Google compiling your life's story in some AI database they are cheap, reliable, and very secure (Google wants to be the only one that has your data haha).
That said I have a work computer for my MS office apps. The only thing Google doesn't really replicate well is MS excel . . . sheets just doesn't cut the mustard yet.
Oh and funny thing about my Nigerian prince . . . he totally ghosted me when I got set up on my chromebook.

I've had this laptop since 2017. Never had anything but Defender on this box and have never been infected with anything. Of course, now that I've said that, guess what will happen?
