I mentioned that the new tape was stickier than what I used before.
I originally bought the tape to dop with. Here's a hint, it didn't work.
I would start with soaking in hot soapy water.

drocknut. To remove the tape, could you use acetone? Good luck to you! Thanks for the suggestion but I already pealed it all off, just took a while to do it. |

Having bought material and made cabs for a very long time, it is hard to imagine someone doing beautiful work and using great material and selling them so cheap. I can guess what they sold for since my wife bought so many. I attend the Highland Park lapidary zoom sales and the younger guys talk about making cabs as printing money. Having sold cabs for four years, I understand how competitive the market is.
Having sorted through maybe a thousand cabs, I put aside less than 10% to list in the future and very few I would list now. Cabs are collected but most of my sales are to people who make jewelry. In my assortments, I tried to have cabs usable by wrappers and silversmiths.

In group #20, bottom row, 3rd from the left: what is this rock? It’s spectacular! Looks like Rainbow Calsilica to me. Man-made though when it first came out there was much debate over this. I haven’t looked in a while but there were quite a few stories about it online a decade or so ago. |

From my wife's collection. I just looked it up and they are still debating whether it is natural or man made.
I found this: 'The metaphysical properties of the stone include mental clarity and aura cleansing, with some claiming it is capable of calming the mind and balancing energy.'

Now you tell me...lol. I already spent and hour or so peeling and scraping it off with my fingernails. It may not work for dopping but it sure keeps those cab stuck to the cardboard for shipping. I know I'm going to kick myself for asking but what groups are still available? |

11 sold to gemfreak95. The heart is from my wife's collection so I can't Id the material. It is carved with high polish.

My box of rocks arrived yesterday, and like the others I think they’re very nice, well packed, etc., and I think what’s not to like? Thanks for a great deal on some nice cabs.

Thanks. More than half of the cabs were from my wife's collection. The ones that I included that I made were good enough to sell. I have hundreds that I made that are not.

I got my set yesterday. Thanks again! Side note: WTF is that tape?! I spent an hour trying to pry the cabs free after work, only got 8 off, and I think I cracked one that's still stuck.
