Dan Hurd, the Youtube guy helps run a camp for kids in BC. The wildfires did substantial damage and the assumption is that it is going to take a lot of money to rebuild. If you are on Facebook, Twitter, or the other sites, please share this link to get it out to as many people as possible. If every one of us who is able, shares this, it could go to millions of people and if only a tiny percentage give just a dollar, it may build the camp back up.

He’ll be fine. Im sure he can afford it with the price he sells his ocean picture stone for 😂 Based on his past handful of videos he finds tens of thousands of dollars of gold and rocks constantly. So why exactly is he asking for $30,000? Canceling the insurance to save money was foolish.

Naw.. he’s fine. He’s free to ask for whatever help he wants. As obviously I don’t know his whole story. I was just being facetious and making a joke. If anyone hasn’t looked in his site what he’s asking for material, it’s up there with some of the rarer materials that have been mined out of existence. Too rich for my blood 😅

Well, I gotta say that he is cleaning up his mess, even though it wasn't caused by his YouTube followers trashing a collection site shortly after his video drops. Glass houses and all. Perhaps Mr Hurd can afford it, but getting a community together to rebuild a youth camp, and maybe even getting people in his area to step up to help run it, ain't so bad. Money can't buy involvement.

It wasn't "his insurance". They have a board, they made the regrettable decision, lord knows we all have had those "slaps forehead, what was I thinking" moments. Me pretty much on a weekly basis. I know "for the children" is a horribly overused statement and all too often by folks who should be kept from children, but I think in this case we have some very well meaning people who deserve some help.

I’ll pitch him some money, considering the cause.

I do agree with what's been said here and it's great that he's devoted funds and even more so time to this youth camp but I think it was a poor choice of words on the video to say cancelling the fire insurance was "the smart choice".

The committee had to chose between fire insurance and liability in order to keep the camp open. They chose the one that prevents some snowflake's dad from suing the heck out of them and getting the property because JR climbed on the roof and fell off.

I'm impressed that are getting community volunteers to do all the labor. They are only raising funds to buy material.
They rolled the dice on insurance and lost. But, I'm glad they are trying to rebuild.
