I got 5 pounds of this from Richardson Ranch a couple months ago. It’s supposed to be a relatively new discovery in Mexico. I absolutely love how it’s turning out. It’s also fairly easy to shape, only needeng three course runs and a couple of days in the vibratory with 220 grit to get this smooth. I have a feeling it’s going to polish beautifully.

Sweet stuff! it sure looks a lot like crazy lace agate to me. Guess that makes sense tho since all comes out of same general area.

Ouch, Cloudinary destroyed any detail in those two pictures. It's hard to see any sort of detail in those, sorry.

I'm liking the looks of that one. Crazy serape. Keep us posted please. Will do, it should be done in the next week or so. I can’t wait to see how it polished up. I also need to get the other big pieces I have tumbling in the rebel 17.

I’m also having a lot of fun with Serape jasper here. My source is not the same as yours…I’m told it comes out of the same deposits that yield Mexican crazy lace, thus the (often) similarity. I have some pieces here, like yours above, which could easily be called the latter. I think most Serape jasper though, looks entirely different. A serape is one of the pullover, multi-color striped woven garments traditionally worn in Mexico, thus the name. It’s easy to work with and takes on a great polish, and it’s beautiful rock as well. In the image above, which is a load of rock I put in to #500 AO a couple of days ago, the larger, striped, red-brown pieces of rock are Serape jasper.

It looks different from what I have. That is a beautiful pile of rocks there…
