I made my list; I checked it twice... I have 12 people to make earrings for this Christmas. (a couple a piece) I've been having fun ordering gemstone beads. I still have some coming in the mail. For now, I'm just admiring and playing with the beads. I've done a few simple ones just to get my feet wet. I haven't started the wire wrapped ones, yet - except for the bottom left. (I watched a YT vid, but now I can't find it, but I will. I love the hammered washers.)
Washcloth aka bead mat is beige.
The mixed size tiger eye in the middle is for a man who wears 2 earrings and likes danglies and quirky. Last time I saw him he was wearing ice cream cones NO, he's not gay.
The big red ones and the ones next to them are for a Goth girl, whom I deeply respect. She's taking care of her invalid father.
The citrines are from my stash. I've had them over 20 years and they were antique when I bought them. You just don't get that quality anymore.
The blue at bottom right are kyanite and the red are big faceted CZ.
All of these except for a one have sparklies- rock crystal, CZ or swarovsky's (sp?). I just really like earrings with some sparkle to catch the eye. Most of the gemstone beads are faceted.
The rose quartz are gorgeous. So, are the pearls.
I downloaded a couple of tutes from Etsy and will be starting the wire wrapping as soon as all the rest of the beads come in.
I'm doing all the patinas at the end.

I like the stories about the people that they are for and their personalities. Looks like a fun project. I was using earrings earlier this year as small practice wire-wrap projects and also really got into the gemstone beads. I’m hoping our winter slows down a bit and we can find time to play. I’m reminded now of those ear wires you posted recently. Kept meaning to go check the sale on those…

I'll be making more for her. She LOVES copper and likes it raw, too, with no patina. It's really hard for me to let it go like that because she prefers not to polish it. Every time she comes over I'm like let me polish that! Nope.
Yeah, it's fun to play with beads and play mix and match.

You have been busy & having fun I adore the hammered tiger eye.
You always have a clean different take on a design !
Everyone & their sister would hang the bead down- sideways is wonderful !
Not sure about it being for a guy - but heck, it's your friend
Thanks for sharing them - always inspiring, Patty
PS- Maybe you should give your daughter some Copper Cream along with the un-coated earrings. It works fast- she might actually use it.

I'm working on dropping beads from a washer right now. LOL
I was referring to the tiger eye middle row 2nd from right. Those mismatched ones.
I slyly asked everyone's favorite colors before I started these.
I am wrapping that carved Jade I got from stardiamond like a shark's tooth and making my grandson a sword. He'll love it!

OH- now those I can see a guy wearing !
That jade carving you got was nice - I look forward to seeing what you do with it.
And the sword looks fun.
Keep up the good work

What fun you are having! So relaxing to "build" earrings after dealing with wrapping. It looks like this is a welcome respite for you, and it goes without saying that I'd wear any of them. I'm so looking forward to seeing the sword.

I'm so looking forward to seeing the sword. I have been at it non stop. I just got 2 more shipments today. Been making bracelets and earrings. I got some really nice beads. It's so fun putting them all together. One shipment I got, I was really disappointed in, so they are exchanging the bad beads for others. I've got two shipments of crystals coming in, too. I'm not done by a long shot! LOL!

Tela, I'm SO sorry! I don't know how I missed this thread!! You are definitely showing your love for the receivers of these! To me, earrings are a major "labor of love"...since I can't find any other reason to spend the time making them!

I bought more silver earwires and figured I prolly don't have enough, so I made about 40 more pair from scrap. Cut down my scrap pile! But, Man is that tedious work. I balled the ends, pickled, made pairs to match, tumbled for abt 15 hours, took a burr cup to the ends and finally hammered them. Ugh. They're nice earwires, though and sturdy.
I'm winding down. Had to get some particular beads to finish some projects, but I'm almost done.
I got the newer version of Speed Brite ionic cleaner cleaner, too. Should make cleaning them a lot easier.
