I made a 4 six lb lortone tumbler. Lortone Barrels that is. I agree with you, barrels are great, the rest of it is so delicate. Good job!

I have looked at some of the home builds for tumblers and always figured they looked like too much of a project for me. I very much liked the simplicity (at least apparent simplicity) of your build. Could you provide a list of the parts? I might want to try this in my spare time.
Thanks,
Chris

Chris, I bought the 4' rods on Amazon. There are cheaper prices but they want a lot to ship. Amazon ships "free." The pillow bearings and the little roller bearings are from Amazon. Belts and pulleys were either Amazon or Walmart.com The motor was from ZORO I believe. I bought the tubing from my local hardware store. I would recommend buying the 3/4" ID tubing--not something smaller and trying to squeeze it on there. All the hardware was from my local hardware store--not a big box store. Somewhere you can find knowledgable people who will help you find what you need. Show them my video if you want, and tell them you are trying to build something like that. Start with a table--I got that one for free. Make sure it's strong. It is a simple, big tumbler; but it actually took a lot of thought, time, planning and trips to the hardware store. But on the plus side--it's running like a champ! Good luck. Once you get into it feel free to write me with any questions.
