jasoninsd Nah I edited, sometimes I waffle on the personals details. I'm weird.
But yea, I wonder how much culture shock I'm going to experience. Not nervous in the least, just happy to be along for the ride.
I cleared my phone space and am bringing my other camera, hoping for some more landscape shots that my phone doesn't do a great job of capturing.

I get it Personally, I'd be overwhelmed with the culture differential...but I would like to hope I would come across as fascinated...not just a dumb redneck experiencing something completely different! LOL I've seen some of the landscapes from Japan...in pictures...and they're simply astounding! I'm happy you're going to be able to experience those first-hand!

Safe travels! That should be a wonderful trip. Hope you enjoy it.
Will you leave them in an extended tumble, or shut them down during the trip?

One of the few worries I have is fires from electrical devices shorting out and burning everything to the ground, so I'm going to leave them off for this trip.
None of that makes sense because it could happen at any time I'm here as well...

Hope your trip is going well! Where did you get your Bahias by the way? I got these a small local shop, Jerry's Rock Shop, in WA.

Been a while since an update, but here we go.... forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1303366This little guy isn't exactly turning out the way I had hoped with some pretty deep cracks showing on both sides (though some pink just started to show on the back side). I figured I post an update before some it's start to section itself off. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1303374Worth updating this guy as the color change is still going on with more to come. It's starting to take it's final shape though... forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1303375One of 4 rocks I'm moving to my smaller 3lb tumbler next week, some just need face work and others need a softer touch. Probably won't see it again until the final product. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1303460It's crazy how even after a couple months of tumbling some rocks have that outer crust in spots. This still has a long way to go and hasn't broken like I predicted, but the rounded side has a nice show of colors to keep an eye on. forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/post/1303467Slow and steady with this big guy. The first rock in this list has lost 25% of its mass, where as this bigger one has only lost 13%, there was a thread here somewhere about how smaller rocks will exponentially lose more mass and I think after tracking these, I would agree. Anyway, this one still has a long way to go, but it was worthy of a check in.

My favorite is this one. I believe they will all turn out great once polished

I gave in and am trying the rotary setup this week.

I was little bored last week on lunch and decided to stop by the rock shop again, just to see if there was anything I missed last time (sure). Anyway, they had refilled the Bahia bin to my suprise. I had figured once empty, they would be gone. I spent a good 30-40 minutes going thru as much as I could and tried to pick much better examples of good tumbling material. Instead of my annoying commentary, I'll let the rocks do the talking this time.
I might regret adding these, but I'm enjoying this project, and these are overall higher quality rocks.
