The Hurricane Fault has caused numerous landslides on the mountains of the Colorado Plateau East of Enoch Take a look at the Geology of the area and we see that it has become a mixture of Tertiary, Cretaceous, Jurassic, and Triassic Time. Shock waves from land slodes and the formation of he Rocky Mountains with water present created Silica gel- which becomes agate, so lots of agate are found in the area.

Interesting stuff. We are thinking of heading north early next summer and driving up 15 to 84, then west, to see some new stuff on the way. The geology part is good to know and we also want to stop by some of the notable Utah collection areas. I have not been to Utah since 1975 passing through in a hippy van, whole different story, so it will all be new to us.

Up Fiddler's Canyon is Blue Agate Now covered with homes, elsewhere is known as "peanut butter," and stuff from "Bloody Basin." Ask zarguy for more info.
