Well as I have now reached 78 years , sold my motorcycles and now need something to occupy my time , so I whilst away in Australia I got the bug for rock tumbling, it is something I know nothing about , but willing to learn from those of experience . I shall purchase a tumbling machine locally I hope as i am in the uk . I am sure the good folk on here will direct me onto the correct paths. regards Bruce ps Happy new year all.

Welcome from Central California!
Not sure what all is available in the UK but think a tumblers with two 3 pound barrels is a great machine to start with. You don't need a tremendous quantity of rocks to get it going. It's nice to have the second barrel because sometimes the 1st stage can take a long time with some rocks. 2 barrels gives you a chance to move stuff on and add to the first stage. Loretone makes the 33B which is a great machine. Peruse the existing posts and post your questions in the "Rock Tumbling" section. There's lots of knowledgeable folks here who are more than willing to help.

Welcome from California, and happy new year!
There are many ways to enjoy rocks. Check out the home page to see them all
Not a tumbler, but there are many experienced tumblers here. Hint: your tumbling load will not be done by dinner time —- today, next week, next month… 😀

I had a little 200 Cc Yamaha that was my rock hounding aid for over 10,000 miles. It sort of limited my daily collection to 35lbs or so but got me to some great sites here in NM. OZ has some grat material. Show us what you are working on.
