Get that kids some rocks. Fairburn slab mobile above the baby bed. Ya know… I have Jason a nice chunk of Iris agate. He could cut a bunch of thin slabs and polish them all up, then make one of those dangling things that hangs above a baby’s crib. Iris agate wind chimes if you will.

Get that kids some rocks. I'll be curious to see if he shows any interest in them. You know...in 5 or 6 years! LOL Get that kids some rocks. Fairburn slab mobile above the baby bed. OMG! I want that for myself! LOL Fairburn slab mobile above the baby bed. Ya know… I have Jason a nice chunk of Iris agate. He could cut a bunch of thin slabs and polish them all up, then make one of those dangling things that hangs above a baby’s crib. Iris agate wind chimes if you will. That might work!! You and your family have received a big blessing for sure! Super good to hear of it. Thank you Thomas! I couldn't agree more!

My stepson and his girlfriend of eight years (she might as well be our daughter-in-law) were expecting their first child at the end of March. Donavin is a firefighter for the city, and Kayla is a NICU nurse. Well...God and/or the Universe had some other plans as to the due date. On January 30th, our world went into an uproar as we got a phone call from Donavin that Kayla had gone into labor...two months early. Well...a lot of prayers and chewed up nails later, and Beckett was born on January 31st. I finally got the "ok" to post something about all this. Beckett was 3 pounds 12 ounces...and 17 inches long. (I'm thinking no wonder he wanted out...he ran out of room!) He was of course admitted to the NICU since he was so premature. He was put on a feeding tube, and was put on a machine like a sleep-app thingy since his lungs were underdeveloped...or so they thought. Since the time he was born 6 days ago, he has been taken off the feeding tube and is already getting mom's milk. He is also been moved to the lowest setting on the air pressure thingy...basically he's just about doing all the work for breathing. He has also already had an actual bath...and has gotten to wear clothes! Essentially, he is progressing at an unbelievable rate...surprising family and medical staff. He will still stay in NICU for several more weeks. Mom will be going back to work while he's there...but she's not "supposed" to spend time with him while she's working...and of course Dad went back to work today. So...here's some pics of our new grandson! He is it beautiful little boy, Jason! Congratulations, grandpa 😊

How close do you live? Sounds like you're in the same vicinity. I get to see my newest grandson next week. Haven't seen him in person since last April when we went to his 1st birthday party in Florida. I'm getting real excited.

Thank you Diane! My wife told me last night that Beckett was feeding from a bottle yesterday...which is apparently unheard of from a baby as premature as he is/was. So I guess that's cause for another celebration! My stepson and his girlfriend of eight years (she might as well be our daughter-in-law) were expecting their first child at the end of March. Donavin is a firefighter for the city, and Kayla is a NICU nurse. Well...God and/or the Universe had some other plans as to the due date. So...here's some pics of our new grandson! He is it beautiful little boy, Jason! Congratulations, grandpa 😊 Thanks Velo! I didn't know premature babies were born without the actual color of their eyes. They look black to me! I guess we have to wait longer to see what color they're actually going to be. Who knew?? (Probably everyone but me! LOL) How close do you live? Sounds like you're in the same vicinity. I get to see my newest grandson next week. Haven't seen him in person since last April when we went to his 1st birthday party in Florida. I'm getting real excited. I'm super stoked you get to see him...and it's just around the corner...well...time-wise at least! He's actually here in Rapid City. I'm being overly cautious - so I still haven't been able to meet/hold him. Since I work in a retail environment, I'm around quite a lot of different people. We've had two people (who work there) who have had a serious flu/cold thingy the last couple weeks. I haven't gotten sick, but I don't want to get around him just yet...as I would never forgive myself if I knew I was the cause of him getting sick right now!

I got to FaceTime the other night. Dad was holding him and had the camera on him. I thought he looked huge...until Donavin put his hand into the frame...and I could see how tiny he really is. So Mom put a bottle next to him for size comparison. No...he wasn't drinking from THAT bottle! LOL

Dad was holding him, and Beckett had his arms raised above his head...which is a position he apparently really likes. Dad would barely touch his arm pit...obviously tickling him. He'd pull his arms down...and give a little smile. (I took it as though he thought it was humorous...but he might have just been trying to poop...the look is sometimes the same! LOL)

He's absolutely beautiful, Jason! Looks like in his 2 weeks in the world that he put on a little weight. That's awesome!
