You have this rock. Just a normal rock, just like everyone else in our community has. You take this rock and you put it in your saw and you spend hours cutting chunks off of it and turn it into a 26-sided thing that looks like a giant gem from a titan's jewelry box. Then you take it outside and vandalize it with some sort of abrasive power tool so it looks nothing like the beautiful gem you made. Now it looks like a blackhead someone squeezed off of Polyphemus' ass. You then take it and shove it into a giant machine that cost you a small fortune and makes enough noise to make Helen Keller riot. Subtly the noise begins to become less and less like a talent-less juggler with a truckload of bowling balls on your roof and it begins to sound like someone is endlessly pushing the lid off of King Tut's sarcophagus. Now it looks like it is becoming something round with only a few spots that make noise when they hit just the right spot. Suddenly it begins to make you feel really good. "Holy shit! I made this. Not someone else. ME!" This could work out. As time passes, it is starting to look really cool. This is awesome. I did this myself with no one else helping. Just me. You turn the machine off and hit it with the spray bottle. The slime washes off. "Oh my God!" Look at this thing. And that was only the rough grind. IMG_2813 by mrk525, on Flickr

I think your machine works pretty good. That is going to be awesome, so be careful with it please. I just love it when an ordinary rock turns out to be extraordinary.

That was the very first rock that I preformed myself that I tried in my machine. I did a few that were already ready that I bought in Q a few weeks back that were practice. This was the first one of my own. Then I put a chunk of mushroom in and it was almost done and I went to go take a dookie and when I went back, it had jammed up and made 3 boobies on it. It is ruined so I will just sell it at the Pow Wow as rough next winter. I should have been pissed, but I did not get too worried about it.

Well, I have hit a stumbling block. I did up the llanite preform, retooled the machine to diamond pads and proceeded to watch them roll out of the pads and roll around on top of the whole thing. Nothing I have tried has worked. Looks like I am done until I make some new cups to put pieces of pad in.
