Yay!!! I got mine done! It's in the tumbler. I didn't think I would get one done in time. I've had a lot of house guests. It's meant to go on a necklace that I won't get done. I don't have any beads for it- I don't think. WOW! & an excuse to buy more beads Can't wait to see it.

As if the thought hadn't crossed my mind! LOL!

I came in with a day to spare. It's a necklace, but I am waiting for beads in the mail.
I got almost allll the way through this, then cut the wrong damn wire!!! I almost NEVER do that! But, it turned into a happy accident.
This is a Priday thunder egg plume agate.

Very nice. Now I see the need for the fancy chain-that will look killer. I particularly like the ONE coil accent/hold down. There is skill in designing and not overdoing !
The stone is beautiful as well.
I see a mountain range covered in snow.
Glad you joined the March party I look forward to seeing the necklace.

Beautiful wrap! I really like the cab too. That's some nice plume. Will the chain attach to the 2 loops on top?

Thanks Patty!
The one curl was the happy accident. It doesn't hold the stone. If I had planned it, the curl would have gone on the other side.
I ordered some chain. They are nice, I hope. The chain will have bead stations.
I'll post a picture of the finished piece.

LOL! So, it is!

Of course there is:
"There was a little girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good, she was very, very good, but when she was bad............"

Tela, I'm fascinated by your wrap. Somehow you've managed to combine subtlety and unique style elements, and done it perfectly. Home run with bases loaded!

I actually got something done. It wasn't supposed to look like this--it was supposed to be much simpler, but for some reason the cab kept migrating upward, and I kept adding elements to push it back down. I don't know what the problem was--I've done stones with this orientation before and this is the first time it happened. But, once I wandered into frou-frou, I decided to pull out all the stops and go overwhelmingly frou-frou. It was actually kind of fun to be so tacky! The cab is NH granite--on the back you can see some of the flash reflection; it may be mica, but I think it is likely feldspar that lends the chatoyance and the pink color; very, very solid granite. Here goes:

I guess you must be feeling a little better, susand24224 to pull off a nice wrap.
It's very graceful, I like it !
It has a light, airy look to me, not overwhelmingly frou-frou at all.
I like how you tied in the loop on the bottom with the hold downs.
Nicely done.
Glad you made the party

Thank you, susan24224!
I don't think your piece is too frou frou, at all. All the elements are well balanced and not overwhelming. I like how you have 3 curls on the front for balance. I like the dangles and the bail, too. Overall, I'd say you did a great job!
Glad you (appear) to be feeling better. Your entry came in right under the wire. Good for you!

Thanks, Patty! I am much better, almost human the last few days. Still coughing and whiny, but part of it may just be allergies. The loop at the bottom is actually the only part that was planned, although I planned to dangle something from it, I didn't know what. I really appreciate the critique; I haven't been very good at returning that the last few weeks but I will make up for it.

Thank you, Tela! I appreciate the thorough comments and know that there are some areas that need to be tweaked although that may not be possible because I've reached the point where if I move one wire something else unintended moves as well. I've also work hardened this so much trying to tweak that I believe I have altered the chemical composition to steel or something worse. BTW, I looked at the website that you posted the link to and I can certainly see why you like it so much! It will be revisited by me soon. (I'm reeling from the shock of taxes, medical stuff and upcoming property tax currently.)

I have ordered a lot of beads from that site. I have always been pleasantly surprised by the quality. You would think they would be junk for the prices. I always google for a code, too. I usually get 20% off.
I'm dreading doing our taxes.... I feel your pain.

Well, ladies and gentleman. March has come to a close with plenty of great submissions. Horizontal wraps can prove to be challenging, but you rose to the challenge.
Waiting on rockbrain for our next challenge. Somehow, I think it will be a good one.

I finished! I had planned to use a pink bead but all I had was too overwhelming. I used brecciated jasper and yellow Burmese jade. 20-22 inches. Like my fancy background? LOL!

That looks great, it really adds a lot to the wrap.
Your choice of beads is spot on, the Burmese Jade ties in perfectly.
I like the chain, looks like chain mail.
Did you make it or buy it ?
Did the chain also go in the tumbler ?
Nicely DONE. Patty
