Here is a slab from a rock I found in Michigan. I think this came from Lake Michigan, probably in the Petoskey area. I think the red portion of the rock may be jasper (it bled like a lot of red jasper does). Not sure what the portion between the bands is on the top portion of the rock. Looks like it could be some sort of quartzite (looks like small particles). I would say the color is a little more red in person and somewhat darker. Anyway, I like the patterns in the stone. Not sure how it will polish. Will post pics once I do something with it. Thanks for looking, Chris
